Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to initiate significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 US jobs under a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August with a value of $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to reveal full details in its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the company was looking to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.

By December 2024, the organization employed about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
